My main research goals are to provide functional and evolutionary insight into ecological patterns identified in the field or established in the literature and understand how species interaction with others and with the environment modulate biodiversity maintenance. I am interested in integrating approaches from different scales and areas of knowledge to evaluate ecological hypotheses. My research has combined theory with experimental and observational work, mainly in arid shrublands and evergreen forests. My hobbies are listening to rock and metal music, playing fútbol, and reading a book when my little son allows me (LOL). I also enjoy watching sports on T.V., but above all, watching Barcelona F.C. and Universidad Católica de Chile win.
